Today is a special day for Niall Mac Eachmharcaigh, his family and the community of Ranafast when he will honoured at a reception  in Dungloe Public Service Centre later today for his outstanding contribution as a writer, director and actor.

 

The reception is being hosted by the Glenties Municipal District of Donegal County Council and speaking this morning Cathaoirleach of the Municipal District Cllr Micheal Cholm MacGiolla Easbuig said “I am so looking forward to today, it’s a big day for Neil Mac Eachmharcaigh, his family, our community and for me as chairperson of Donegal County Council Glenties MD.

 

“Today we are presenting Neil with recognition award from Donegal County Council in recognition of the huge contribution he has made to our language and culture locally and nationally I am so privileged to be chairing this event.”

 

A native of Rann na Feirste, Niall is best known for playing the part of John Joe Daly in TG4's Irish-language drama, Ros na Rún.  He started his acting career in theatre and has also written a number of TV shows, including the award-winning comedy CU Burn which he also directed.

 

The event will take place today Friday at 3pm in Dungloe Public Service Centre.
